On August 21, 2024, the Department of Multimedia at St. Mary’s College (Autonomous), Thrissur, conducted an AI Designing Tool Seminar in collaboration with Excellence Global Solution, a division of the Excellence Group of Companies. The seminar focused on exploring advanced AI tools for design and creativity, aiming to equip students with cutting-edge skills in the field of multimedia. The session featured expert speakers who demonstrated the applications of AI in design and encouraged interactive participation. The event saw enthusiastic attendance from students and faculty, contributing to a dynamic learning experience.

St. Mary’s College (Autonomous), Thrissur, in collaboration with Networkz Systems Technology, organized an orientation session titled "Data Visualization: Principles and Tools" on August 16th. The session was conducted by Avinash S Kumar, a Curriculum and Product Development Member at Networkz Systems. The event aimed to educate students on the fundamentals of data visualization, focusing on essential principles and the tools required for effective data presentation. The session attracted considerable attention from students, especially those in the Department of Computer Science and Applications and the Department of Software Development (B.VOC). Dr. Sr. Beena T L, the college principal, along with the heads of the departments, Smt. Betsy Chacko and Smt. Sreejitha T S, oversaw the event. Program coordination was managed by Smt. Praseetha E and Smt. Aparna U, with student coordinators Anurasli A A and Gopika Nair ensuring smooth proceedings. The orientation provided students with valuable insights into data visualization, a crucial skill in today's data-driven world.

The day began with the Principal, Dr. Sr. Beena T L, hoisting the national flag, accompanied by a moving rendition of the national anthem by the college choir. The ceremony was followed by an inspiring speech from the Principal, who emphasized the importance of preserving the values of freedom, democracy, and justice that the nation stands for. The highlight of the day was a vibrant cultural program that showcased the diverse talents of the students. Traditional dances, patriotic songs, and a drama depicting India's struggle for independence were performed, drawing enthusiastic applause from the audience. The event also featured a special exhibition organized by the history department, displaying rare photographs, documents, and artifacts from India’s freedom movement. In her address, the Principal urged the students to remember the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters and to contribute positively to the nation’s growth and development. She also highlighted the role of education in empowering the youth to take on the challenges of the future. The celebrations concluded with a community feast, where students, faculty, and staff came together to share a meal, symbolizing the unity and harmony that Independence Day represents.
